NEWS FLASH!
Message from Linda Abrams:
All who read the July newsletter know that Dan Hall sold his 'Coupe and has
stepped down as EOC Region 7 Director. I told Dan a long time ago that I would
be his "back-up," because I really felt a debt of gratitude to the EOC in
general and Region 7 in particular, because without the help I got as a new
'Coupe owner 3 years ago, I would not have been able to buy my Ercoupe, learn to
fly it, or find Ercoupe-knowledgeable CFIs or mechanics. I really didn't expect
that a back-up would be needed for Region 7 this soon in my Ercouping adventure,
and I sure don't know as much about Ercoupes as Dan did when he started, so I'm
still going to need the help of all of you to keep our newsletter going!
Also, this is still an "Interim" post, since either Dan or
I have been out of town for most points in time since his decision, so nothing
is official yet. (Just in case any of you reading this are harboring aspirations
to be Region 7 Director, please speak up!!! I'm willing to take it on, but sure
don't need to be the one.)
For those who don't yet know me: I live in SoCal, fly a 1946 Ercoupe 415-C,
nicknamed "Sky Sprite" out of Torrance (KTOA). I'm licensed Private Pilot,
flying Sport Pilot. If you're curious about more background, here's a link to an

I look forward very much to meeting as many of you as possible in the coming
months! One complication is that Torrance Airport gets the worst of the marine
stratus layer, so I often can't take off early enough for a brunch or early
lunch meetup. I'm going to try just slightly later meeting times, and see if
that works out. (If it doesn't, and most people still want early starts, you'll
just have to start without me;-))
